How RealWealth Began…
Rich and Kathy Fettke, RealWealth Co-Founders, were living a very different life 20 years ago. Kathy, a news reporter at the time, was desperate to discover how some people had created this mysterious thing called “passive income.” Her husband, Rich, had been diagnosed with deadly melanoma and told he probably had about six months to live. She refused to believe the doctor, and instead put her focus on finding a way to make money passively so that she could be home with Rich and their two young kids during this challenging time.
In addition to working as a reporter, Kathy also hosted a weekend radio show on KSFO. She made the decision to start interviewing people who had created wealth – and specifically passive income – to learn their strategies.
The more she learned, the more she realized she wasn’t the only one who was desperate for this information. Soon, the RealWealth Network was born – a place where ordinary people could learn the secrets of the wealthy (with no cheesy back of the room sales pitches, just education.)
This year marks a special milestone – a 20-year journey of helping over 70,000 investors discover real wealth – which we define as having both the money and the freedom to live life on your terms.
Real Estate Investing, Simplified
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we’re hosting a special 20 year anniversary event for our members, staff, and property teams on October 6 and 7th, 2023 in Los Angeles!
We’ll kick the weekend off on Friday night with a meet ‘n greet cocktail hour, followed by a full-day property showcase event with 10 property teams from around the country. We’ve also invited long-time RealWealth members to share how they’ve created financial freedom through our network of experienced property providers. We’ll end the day with a 20 year anniversary dinner party on Saturday night (and let’s celebrate Rich’s 20 years living cancer-free)!
- Reference the Investor Checklist, a list of absolute must-do’s, prior to purchasing any investment property.
- Order your own full home inspection from a licensed home inspector, even if a property team provides one for you. In the event that the home inspection reveals particular matters beyond the expertise of the home inspector, order additional inspections of said matters from a qualified contractor or expert (examples include but are not limited to electrical, plumbing, foundation, and roofing inspections).
- Order an appraisal. If you are financing the purchase, your lender will likely automatically order an appraisal and will likely provide you a copy upon request. If you are purchasing the property without financing, then order your own appraisal from an independent appraiser (you should avoid relying on an appraisal provided by any property team).
