How RealWealth Began…
Rich and Kathy Fettke, RealWealth Co-Founders, were living a very different life 20 years ago.
Rich had been on a national media tour promoting his book, Extreme Success, when he discovered a freckle on his forehead. It turned out to be deadly melanoma skin cancer.
He was told by the doctor that if it spread to his liver, he would have only about six months to live.
Kathy, who had taken a break from her career in the news business to raise their two young children, refused to believe the doctor. Instead, she searched for a way to take over the finances so Rich could take a break.
She still hosted a weekend radio show in San Francisco on KNEW, so she shifted the content to learn the secrets of the wealthy. She started interviewing millionaires to learn their strategies.
The more Kathy learned, the more she realized these people had earned their wealth in two ways – through owning a business and through real estate. She dove in to learn everything she could and shared that information with her audience.
Soon, the RealWealth Network was born – a place where ordinary people could learn the secrets of the wealthy (with no cheesy back of the room sales pitches, just education.)
20 years later, Rich and Kathy and the team at RealWealth continue to educate their 70,000 members on how to create passive income through savvy real estate investments.
This year marks a special milestone – a 20-year journey of helping over 70,000 investors discover real wealth – which we define as having both the money and the freedom to live life on your terms.
Real Estate Investing, Simplified
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we’re hosting a special 20 year anniversary event for our members, staff, and property teams on October 6 and 7th, 2023 in Los Angeles!
We’ll kick the weekend off on Friday night with a meet ‘n greet cocktail hour, followed by a full-day property showcase event with 10 property teams from around the country. We’ve also invited long-time RealWealth members to share how they’ve created financial freedom through our network of experienced property providers. We’ll end the day with a 20 year anniversary dinner party on Saturday night (and let’s celebrate Rich’s 20 years living cancer-free)!
- Reference the Investor Checklist, a list of absolute must-do’s, prior to purchasing any investment property.
- Order your own full home inspection from a licensed home inspector, even if a property team provides one for you. In the event that the home inspection reveals particular matters beyond the expertise of the home inspector, order additional inspections of said matters from a qualified contractor or expert (examples include but are not limited to electrical, plumbing, foundation, and roofing inspections).
- Order an appraisal. If you are financing the purchase, your lender will likely automatically order an appraisal and will likely provide you a copy upon request. If you are purchasing the property without financing, then order your own appraisal from an independent appraiser (you should avoid relying on an appraisal provided by any property team).
